Recently, the City Council approved the updated General Plan
“development blueprint” and certification of the Environmental Impact
Report which sets the goals for our city over the next 15 years. The
plan protects our neighborhoods, plans for additional parks, and
encourages conservation and green building practices.
Also, the City Council approved an updated ordinance to create administrative
fines for graffiti violations. The new ordinance clearly
redefines what is considered graffiti, including stickers, and
authorizes civil action to recover costs. This change keeps enforcement
and prosecution local. We applaud the City Council and Police
Department for their continued efforts to prevent and remove detestable
graffiti in our city.
The Historic Main Street Garden
Grove appellate court case was heard on September 15th. Te judges
heard much discussion, deliberation and debate by the attorneys and
have taken the matter into submission and will provide a ruling some
time within the next 90 days. Go to http://www.savehistoricmainstreet.com/
for more information.
Code Enforcement is a part of the
police department whose job is to ensure standards of maintenance in
our neighborhoods. To report unsightly properties, call 714
741-5358. For additional information regarding Code Enforcement,
