Dear Neighbor,
This Tuesday, August 26th, at
6:30pm,the City Council is scheduled to listen to public comments for
the proposed General Plan Update 2030 and certification of the
Environmental Impact Report. The General Plan is the “blueprint” for
development and goals for our city over the next 15 years. Your
comments are important.
In addition, there will be a Study session of the City Council at
5:00pm, prior to the City Council meeting to discuss the status of the
Brookhurst Triangle Project by JPI Development.
Also, Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, a
proposed ordinance to create
administrative fines for certain graffiti violations will be
discussed. The new ordinance will further our police department’s
efforts to prevent, prohibit and remove graffiti in our city. For
specifics regarding this proposed ordinance, go to –

Two years ago, the City Council created administrative fines (citations
issued by our police officers and prosecuted by our City Attorney) for
illegal fireworks, which have been effective. We applaud the City
Council and Police Department for their continued efforts to prevent
and remove detestable graffiti in our city. Come speak in favor of this
new ordinance at the City Council meeting.
