Let us hope the City Council appoints a diverse group of commissioners taking into consideration experience, education and gender to give advice on issues that affect the businesses and residents in our city.

The Garden Grove Chapter of AARP, #1639 will be hosting Dr. Matthew Butteri from UCI as their guest speaker, who will discuss Arthritis and Polypharmacy at the general meeting.  This meeting will be on Tuesday, March 17th, at 12:30 p.m. The meetings are held in room B of the Community Meeting Center 11300 Stanford Avenue.

This month’s CGGNA Board Meeting will be held at Doug’s Downtown Grill on 12900 Main Street.  The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17th, at 6:30 p.m.  We are in the preliminary stages of planning our annual meeting.  Your ideas are valued and appreciated.  Come enjoy a delicious meal and engaging conversation.

The Planning Commission approved the use of artificial/synthetic turf as landscaping in Garden Grove. The City Council will review and make a final determination in March. The proposed ordinance will set standards for color and percentage of landscaping as well as installation and drainage. If City Council permits artificial/synthetic turf, residents will be eligible for a rebate from the Orange County Water District as an incentive to conserve water. http://gardengrove.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php?view_id=3&clip_id=261&meta_id=13723
