Dear Neighbor,

On Tuesday, February 9th, the City Council will appoint Garden Grove residents to various voluntary commissions in order to serve as advisors to the City Council, providing recommendations that become part of the City’s decision-making process. Applicants must be Garden Grove residents, be able to serve a two-year term of office, and be available to attend regularly scheduled meetings. Applications may be submitted online by selecting Commissions on the left menu. Applicants may also visit the City Clerk’s Office located on the second floor of Garden Grove City Hall at 11222 Acacia Parkway, or call 714 741-5040.  We need involved and informed people to serve on our commissions.  Please apply today.

On Thursday, February 19th, at 7:00 p.m. the Planning Commission will consider permitting artificial/synthetic turf as landscaping in Garden Grove. The proposed ordinance will set standards for color and percentage of landscaping, as well as installation and drainage. Public comments and suggestions from commissioners will be forwarded to City Council for a final decision in the future.  If City Council permits artificial/synthetic turf, residents will be eligible for a rebate from the Orange County Water District as an incentive to conserve water. The Planning Commission meetings are held at 11300 Stanford Avenue.  Your input is encouraged.   http://gardengrove.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php?view_id=3&clip_id=261&meta_id=13723
