Dear Neighbor,
Memorial services for Ray Littrell,
a former City Councilmember and fiscal watchdog, will be held at 2:30
P.M. on Wednesday, January 23,
2008 at Westminster Memorial Park. The Park is on the west side of
Beach Blvd. between Hazard and Bolsa. Our community as a whole is
missing a vital part in his passing.
Duke Noonan passed away
recently. He was a member of our association and active with
AARP. He served our country and retired from Garden Grove Post
Office as a postal carrier.
Our prayers are with both families during this difficult time.

The Planning Commission
recently recommended approval
of a drive-thru Starbuck’s
for
the “Mini Brookhurst Triangle, located at Brookhurst
Street, Stanford
Avenue and Brookhurst Way. The proposal includes space for a patio
adjacent to Starbuck’s, a take-out food tenant space and a
small retail
space. There will be a seven foot landscaped area around the perimeter
of the site. The City Council will make the final decision next month.
The Garden Grove Main Street
Downtown Business Association has filed a legal appeal to challenge the
judge’s decision in favor of the 100 condominiums development
in the
west parking lot. The basis for the appeal is due to the lack of due
process for both the Main Street Parking Commission and the absence of
the competitive bid process for the sale of the property. For more
