New Business:  

  1. Proposal for Arbor-Day April 29, 2011 presented by Ralph Laudenslayer. Project would provide needed shade trees (6) at Hare Park athletic area and 3-4 trees/shrubs at Chapman Library Patio and parking areas. Cooperating groups would be Garden Grove Public Works/Trees Division, Friends of the Library, Central Garden Grove Little League, Euclid Nursery, and Hare High School Student Council Members.
  2. Code Enforcement “Keep it Clean and Green Team” initial meeting tentatively set for Thursday February 17th, 6:30pm at Toby Rubin’s home.
  3. Re-printing of Code Enforcement regulations will be shortly available for the distribution to the public and our “Keep it Clean and Green Team”.
  4. Board discussed possible change of monthly board meetings to 3rd Thursday of the month.
  5. Review of CGGNA website improvements to be deferred to February or March meeting
  6. President Toby announced the IRS will mandate direct deposit of monthly social security checks to recipients starting May 1,201. If no bank account is on file the recipient will be given a credit card type of payment. Toby will verify these facts and report back at the next meeting.
  7. Russ McDonald distributed newly printed “Senior Citizen Programs” provided by the Orange County Council on Aging.
  8. Annual Police Officer Memorial Event-Russ McDonald suggested the CGGNA support this worthy event when plans are announced.
  9. Maureen reminded the Board that advanced plans should be initiated soon for (a) membership drive, (b) fund raiser, (c) and the CGGNA Annual Meeting.
