Old/New Business:

1) Treasurer report:
  • Union Bank signature cards for incoming Treasurer Russ and Secretary, Ralph, signed on August 17th.
  • Debit card application deferred after board discussion.
  • Treasurers report funds in account of $1,097.66.
           
2) Secretary Business:  
  • August newsletters to be mailed Friday, August 22nd. Envelopes and postage given to Ralph.
  • Member list updated; number of dues paying members and supportive members (email only) to be determined by Secretary. It was suggested that newsletter report actual cost of mailing the newsletters so non-paying members become aware of the Association expenses that are under written for the benefit of all members.

3) Website:
  • Format to be revised by Harry; photos from July annual meeting to be included if possible.
  • Update needed for the Brookhurst Triangle development; study session to be held Tues Aug. 26th at 5pm. Prior to City Council meeting.
  • Garden Grove crime rate report provided by Lt. Fowler of Police Department received by Robin; board agreed that it should be enclosed with the August newsletter and included on the website.


4) Cggna City Council Candidate Forum meeting:
  • Date was confirmed for Saturday, Sept. 27th, 2008 at 10am till 11:30  at Cheryl & Tom’s Barn. 
  • John will be our mediator and will prepare invitations to city council candidates.
  • Ralph will be our time keeper to keep all speakers on track.

5) New Business:
  • Carolyn brought to the board’s attention the closure of Hundai Auto Sales in the existing Brookhurst Triangle area, despite delayed development due to economic constraints on the developer, JPI.
 
Next Board Meeting will be Tuesday, September 21 – 6:30pm at Cheryl Armstrong’s home 12421 Loraleen Street.
