Old/New Business:
1) Treasurer report:
The treasurer prior to the meeting
forwarded the bank balance to the board via email 5-19-08 based on she
would be out of town for the board meeting - Total Bank Balance
$1024.20.
2) Secretary Business:
Newsletters were mailed and hand
delivered by Robin Marcario
65 copies $6.90 and stamps total $41.00 – receipts were given to
Janine to present to the treasure upon her return. Cheryl will
reimburse Robin after her return as voted upon for approval 6-0 . In
addition, Robin sent 10 invitations to our Congressional, State, County
and Local representatives for our upcoming Annual Meeting in July this
cost was absorbed in the above total expenses.
3) Website:
Old news will be removed and updated
news will be posted.
Harry is currently working on a special page for achieves. This page
will include board meeting minutes, prior years newsletters and prior
city detailed events.
4) Small lot subdivision info will be obtained by Robin from Carl Hill
and further discussed.
5) May Newsletter:
will highlight our upcoming Annual
Meeting, Sewer rate increase and the General Plan workshop and planning
commission dates. As well, as a reminder to vote in the upcoming
June Election.
6) CGGNA Annual Member Meeting:
Will be held on July 12, 2008 10am to
12 noon at Cheryl & Tom’s Barn. Robin has sent out the
invitations to our Congressional, State, County and local
representatives. Some were invited to speak and depending on the
response will have 10-15 minutes to update our members on information
regarding their offices. A GG Police officer will also speak regarding
police issues in GG as well as, updates regarding the firework issues.
Councilmen Mark Rosen will be honored at the meeting for his support.
He is being termed out this year. Cheryl and Janine will report back as
to Costco and Stater Bros. response regarding donated food and drinks
for our meeting. Congresswomen Loretta Sanchez office has
already responded and will be available from 10-10:30.
7) John Wildsmith confirmed his interest in becoming an interim board
member. 5-0 vote in favor.
8) AARP Candidate's Forum:
Dave Vill and RH McDonald from the
local AARP chapter updated us on their meeting 5-20-08 in which only
one candidate for the county supervisor showed-
Dina Nguyen. In addition, we were updated on the total amount of fines
that were assessed this lat 4th of July for possession of illegal
fireworks. Total $83,000.
Next Board Meeting will be
6/17/08 – 6:30pm at Harry Pearce’s home.
